$1.47 — that’s the average return on investment for every $1 put into skilled trades apprenticeship training according to the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum. That’s good news in light of the BC government’s forecast of more than 153,000 skilled trades openings over the next decade.

To meet the current skilled trades shortage in British Columbia, the BC Construction Association is hosting a job fair in Ireland at the end of the month. Approximately 30 employers will be represented, half of them from BC.

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum has resources and information available at CareersInTrades.ca for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the trades. There are special sections for educators and parents.
